Welcome Back to School 2019
Posted on 08/21/2019
young students at schoolHello North Davis Families!

On behalf of the entire North Davis staff, welcome to the 2019-2020 school year! We look forward to welcoming you and your child(ren) back to school on Wednesday, August 28, 2019. We would like to extend a warm welcome to our new families. We are so glad you are here! North Davis is a special place, and we are excited you have joined our amazing and diverse community. Please do not hesitate to reach out and introduce yourself. We look forward to getting to know you and your child(ren).

This year, we will continue to focus on creating a safe and inclusive environment where every child has the opportunity to grow and thrive. We know that children must feel safe and have strong relationships with the adults in their lives. At North Davis, it is our priority that every student is safe physically and emotionally, and can extend their learning by taking risks, making mistakes, and finding success through the process of inquiry and investigation. You will continue to hear this throughout the year as we refine our routines, programs, and processes to best meet the needs of all of our Dolphins.

You will also see how we prioritize learning and growing in a safe environment reflected in our Single Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA). Our School Site Council is dedicated to funding programs in the SPSA to help meet the needs of all children at our school. If you are interested in being a part of School Site Council, a partnership between staff and parents/guardians, please fill out the School Site Council Parent/Guardian Interest Form.We are looking for four (4) parents and/or guardians to serve a two-year term. We meet 4-6 times per year after school. Please call the school office if you have any questions.

Finally, please take a few moments to complete our Back to School Document. Here you can set your directory preferences, explore volunteer opportunities, join the PTA, and donate to the PTA. As you know, many of the programs we cherish at NDE are made possible by the work and fundraising efforts of the PTA. If you would prefer to print and fill out the forms, you can do so on the PTA website.

Thank you, families, for your continued support and partnership. As always, please do not hesitate to reach out to your child’s teacher or me with any questions. Please see below for important dates, especially Paperless Parade and Welcome Back Picnic (Monday, August 26) and Back to School Night (Wednesday, September 4th). Make sure to bookmark our new website, as well! I look forward to seeing you next week!
